(1) Evil surrounded me in my restless slumber as pressure permeated the room. I tried to trick the unknown entity into leaving by pretending I was awake but my mind and body refused to allow my soul to escape out of the dream state. (2) The heaviness persisted, pushing down on me, taking my breath away. I desperately gasped for air and tried to scream but memories lingered like vengeance and thoughts of lost love. I lied in bed helpless and alone, locked in a dream filled with spiders and held down by an ethereal burden that seemed eternal. My subconscious refused to release me into the waking state. (3) When I gave into the powerlessness of the moment and had forsaken all hope, a vision came to me. In my incarnation, an ocean of people were calling me Obama Bin Laden and praising me. Crowds of faithful believers were cheering for change. Instinctively, I looked in my breast pocket for a business card and found that indeed, I was in fact, Obama Bin Laden, Attorney At Law. (4) "Change!" The faithful cried. "My fellow Americans." I said as I watched weeping young mothers holding their bastard sons up before me. "I am not standing here before you as a Washington Politician. I am standing here before you as an attorney." "Change!" "I ask you now my fellow Americans, who would you trust with your life, the life of your loved ones and your loved ones ability to fend for themselves in a new democracy, a soldier or a lawyer?" "Change!" "The fact remains that in the year 2000, Democracy died." "Change!" (5) "It was the death of democracy when a man named Jeb appointed a man named, Donald "The Duck" Hafele, a.k.a. Donald H. Hafele, to a little known three man committee entrusted to safeguard fairness of elections in the fine State of Florida." "Change!" "But what if there was no oversight over the man entrusted to ensure that such guardians of the democratic process were both ethical and competent?" "Change!" "What if that man had no God?" "Change!" "What if the man in charge of determining the standard of competency and ethics over those who determine the fate of every man, woman, and child had no one on heaven or earth to answer to?" "Change!" "In such a world I ask you all, my fellow Americans. Would you trust a lawyer or a soldier?" I felt trapped in a world where promises were as liquid as the clear blue sky. My spirit sank into the American dream and went completely numb as I hovered over the desperate crowd in an ethereal state. (6) I awoke in a cold sweat to a dark room filled with shadows and lies. Naked and shivering, I slipped on my sandals and reached for my white terry cloth robe as I jumped out of bed and walked towards the door of my dark, ghost filled bedroom. |
